When is the deadline for sending Christmas mail overseas to ensure delivery by Christmas?

The deadline for sending Christmas mail overseas to be delivered by Christmas is approximately early December for airmail and approximately late October for surface mail. However, please note that delays may occur for items sent to countries or territories experiencing international mail delivery delays (*1), even for destinations where no delays have been announced. Please be aware that delays may occur due to increased volume and strained transport capacity during the year-end peak season. We kindly ask that you post your items as early as possible.

Please note that if you are sending items containing goods or items that may be subject to customs inspection, you must use the “International Mail My Page Service.” However, if the information provided for your mail via this service is insufficient or inaccurate (*2), delivery may be delayed or the item returned due to customs inspection in the destination country or territory. We kindly ask that you send your mail with this understanding. For more information, please check here.
